The police have arrested two youths for vandalizing a jewelry store and assaulting the owner.

On Wednesday, two youths created ruckus and vandalized a jewelery shop at Badanpura Chowk in the city. When the shop owner protested against this, he started beating him and abusing him. A crowd of hundreds of people gathered at the site. After receiving information about the incident, Chaumu Police Station reached the spot and inspected the spot. The police arrested the two youths from the scene and took them to the police station for questioning.

Chowmun police station in-charge Pradeep Sharma said shop operator Kamlesh Kumar Saini’s son Tejpal Saini resident of Samod Road has lodged a complaint with the police station. It was told in the report that there is my jeweler in Badanpura Chowk, where Mohanlal s/o Gomaram Kumawat resident of Bhopawa’s Hathnoda and Ramesh Saini s/o Kanhaiyalal Saini resident of Hathnoda came and started vandalizing the shop and ransacked the glass counter and removed the gold kept in the shop. Took silver ornaments with intent to steal.

When the store operator tried to stop them, he started abusing them and started a fight. A number of persuasion attempts were made with both youths, but despite this, both youths entered the store and carried out the vandalism. The police registered the case and started an investigation. At present the accused youth Mohanlal Kumawat and Ramesh Saini have been arrested on charges of breach of peace.
