News Daily Digital Desk: Pujo’s mantra means that his language is Sanskrit. Our society has accepted this as a fundamental concept. Priests also chant in this language in Sanskrit. Although many may not understand the meaning of this Sanskrit mantra. But believe me, his rhythm, pronunciation calms the mind, awakens devotion in the mind. Similarly, common people get carried away without understanding the mantra uttered by the priest during the puja flower offering. While chanting Sanskrit mantras in many cases one has to face problems. But with the belief that the mantra tradition was getting its due status in the Sanskrit language, they made Sanskrit mantras a habit. But priest Kaliprasanna Bhattacharya says that based on his 60 years of experience as a priest, chanting should be in a language you understand yourself. This is how you can clearly express your thoughts to God. At the same time, the pronunciation is also cleaned. So there is no problem if Bengali mantras are chanted in Bengali language. It is in this context that ‘Sambad Pratidin Digital’ launched ‘Pushpanjali #ChantBangla’. But can this Bengali translation of Sanskrit mantras be accepted at once? Won’t it hurt to give wreaths? Priest Kaliprasanna Bhattacharya answered this.
According to him, “from my own experience of 60 years when giving garlands, the eyeballs of those chanting mantras move from side to side. From this I understand that they do not understand mantras. If these mantras can be said in his native language, Bengali, then he will also be able to express his feelings beautifully.” Then he added, “When this mantra was composed, everyone was speaking in Sanskrit. Now, if every Indian can express his needs to his mother in his own language, what can be more beautiful than that! I did not understand the meaning of how many Sanskrit words were pronounced, I was giving flowers. But then I express my feelings to my mother, putting my hand on my chest, I do it in my language.

Whatever we chant while offering anjali to mother is not a mantra. Kaliprasanna Bhattacharya explains, “The mantra seed, like Maa Durga’s magical ‘hring’ seed, is a mantra. The rest is described in terms of its form. But we thought it was all a mantra. So I say to everyone, if you can express your thoughts in your own words, everyone will accept it.”
