Kate, Princess of Wales, has returned home from hospital after two weeks in bed following abdominal surgery, Kensington Palace said.
Kate, 42, wife of Britain’s heir to the throne, Prince William, is “making good progress” after surgery for an undiagnosed cancer at a London clinic, Kensington Palace said in a statement.
His father-in-law, King Charles, was also treated at the same hospital, spending three nights there on Friday after scheduled treatment for an enlarged prostate, and his wife, Queen Camilla, is a regular visitor.
Kensington Palace said Kate has now returned to her home at Windsor Estate in west London.
“He is making good progress,” his office said.
“The Prince and Princess would like to say a huge thank you to the entire team at the London Clinic for their care, especially the dedicated nursing staff.”
Kate is not expected to return to public duties until after Easter. Her husband, Prince William, the heir to the throne, left their marriage to look after their three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
Little is known about her illness or surgery, as British royals generally treat all medical matters as private matters.
However, Charles chose to go public with his condition to encourage other men to get tested.
He visited Kate in hospital before undergoing a ‘corrective procedure’ to treat an enlarged prostate, which is common among men over 50.
Charles’ public events were also put on hold to allow him to recuperate briefly.
