Prince William pays tribute to King Charles when speaking at the coronation ceremony
The Prince of Wales paid a touching tribute to his father at a lavish gala concert to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
“Pa, we are all so proud of you,” Prince William said, before praising the monarch’s dedication to the Crown, as well as his environmental and charitable work.
The heir to the throne took to the stage in front of 20,000 people at Windsor Castle, ahead of a host of performers including Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Paloma Faith, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel and Alexis Ffrench.
A variety of theatrical, ballet, theater and arts performances were also presented, featuring new performances doctor who Ncuti Gatwa stars in an interpretation of Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet.

Release of TV viewing figures for the Coronation Ceremony
The coronation ceremony on Sunday evening was watched by 10.1 million viewers, according to overnight figures from the BBC.
The broadcaster said the star-studded event at Windsor Castle, which featured performances from Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Take That, had a peak viewership of 12.3 million.
Kate Phillips, director of BBC Unscripted, said: “Last night’s Coronation Ball was an unforgettable evening of fantastic performances that brought us all together in celebration.
“Against the backdrop of the stunning Windsor Castle, the concert reflected the many passions of the King and highlighted the outstanding talent we have in the UK and abroad.
Quoting the song “Take That” from the closing ceremony, she added: “We hope viewers never forget it!”.
