Launching a program for overseas Pakistanis under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan

Addressing the inaugural function of Sohni Dharti Remittance Program, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the biggest problem of the country is not paying attention to exports.

The inaugural ceremony of the Sohni Dharti Remittance Program was held in the Federal Capital Territory of Islamabad. Addressing the event, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he congratulated the Governor SBP and his team on the launch of the program.

The Prime Minister said that where Singapore has reached today, which is developing on the economic model of Pakistan, the biggest problem of Pakistan at present is not paying attention to exports.

Imran Khan said that when industries are developed, the country’s exports will also increase.

The Prime Minister said that the global economy was severely affected due to the Corona epidemic and Pakistan’s economic performance in the Corona epidemic was better than other countries.

“Overseas Pakistanis are our most valuable asset. Under the Roshan Digital Program, overseas Pakistanis can also buy a house in the country,” he said.

He said that overseas Pakistanis spend most of their money in real estate, there are 9 million Pakistanis living abroad who are in great pain for their country.

The Prime Minister further said that Overseas Pakistanis are playing an important role in stabilizing the national economy and Overseas Pakistanis are trying to create maximum facilities for them.

Earlier, addressing the function, Finance Advisor Shaukat Tareen had said that Pakistanis who send money from abroad have not received any reward till date. Under remittance program, overseas Pakistanis will get reward points on remittances.

Addressing the function, SBP Governor Raza Baqir said that the scheme would enable the overseas Pakistanis to avail the services rendered by government agencies and the reverse remittances would be given to the overseas Pakistanis.

He further said that overseas Pakistanis can transfer this reward to any beneficiary besides themselves and a mobile application is also being launched for the program.
