The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the petition regarding the arrest of Imran Khan in Zaman Park, saying it would decide all the cases at 3:00 pm and also examine how to execute the arrest warrant, TV channel 24NewsHD reported on Friday.

LHC judge Tariq Saleem Sheikh heard the petitions of Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry appeared before the court.

“Lahori’s life has been saved because of you,” Fawad Chaudhry told Judge Tariq Saleem Sheikh.

The police have said that they will provide security to Imran Khan. We have pulled out of the Lahore rally. Now we will hold the rally on Monday,” he added.

“I had suggested that the date of the demonstration be brought forward,” Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh said in response.

“The protective bails for Imran Khan have been submitted. We have said that the IGP should not arrest the workers and withdraw his miscellaneous petition to get access to Zaman Park,” Fawad Chaudhry said.

“We all have to follow the law. I will not stop the action against the wrongdoer. After the decision of Islamabad courts, how can I hear the protective bail now?” Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh remarked.

“We will assist the court once the bail is granted,” said Fawad Chaudhry.

“We will see that once the bail application is filed,” Justice Tariq Saleem Bajwa said in response.

The LHC judge also heard the miscellaneous petition of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar for entry into Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence.

IGP Dr Usman Anwar along with Advocate General Muhammad Shan Gul appeared before the court.

“Police action was taken at Zaman Park to execute the arrest warrant,” the petition said.

“Allow unhindered access to Imran Khan’s house,” it pleaded.

“Presence of members of a banned organization is suspected at the crime scene. DIG of Islamabad Police and several policemen were injured,” it added.

“Several residents of Zaman Park are contacting the police for registering the case. The police have registered four cases so far,” it said.

“The court has asked the police to come back, so they could not investigate. Access to the scene of the incident is necessary for investigation and collection of evidence”, it was emphasized.

“Without access to the scene of the incident, the investigation process cannot be completed,” it stressed, appealing to the court to allow the police to go to the crime scene and collect evidence.
