The Marcos family has returned to power in the Philippines, ending a two-year period. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., son of the late Philippine leader Ferdinand Marcos, was sworn in today as the country’s 19th president, replacing former President Rodrigo Duterte. Marcos Jr. defeated his rival Maria Leonor Robredo in the May presidential election with 60 percent of the vote.
