Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been encouraged to take a big gamble in Hollywood that could be a “make or break moment” for them.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working members of the royal family in 2020 and have since ventured into Hollywood by signing a multi-year deal with Netflix and starting their own production company.
But entertainment expert Mark Boardman warned that “their integration into the A-list has been slower than expected”, but they could now be presented with a great opportunity to inject massive momentum into their brand.
He said: “It could be a great moment for them to attend the Oscars. The Oscars are the biggest showbiz night of the year, celebrating the best of the best in the world of cinema, while this year’s nominations have been criticized. .. The ceremony remains a cultural touchstone, sparking conversations, influencing trends, and showcasing the incredible talent and creativity that film has to offer, and everyone’s going to be there.”
On March 10, the 96th Academy Awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles and will see Hollywood’s elite in an event watched by hundreds of millions of people around the world.

“If she makes the right connections and really wants it to happen, Meghan in particular can finally land the blockbuster roles she’s been aiming for.
“A well-received appearance could reposition the Sussexes as cultural influencers rather than just tabloid staples.”
He added: “Imagine them supporting important causes on the Oscars stage, or being asked to present an award that cements their status as Hollywood royalty in good faith.
“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s attendance at the Oscars could mark a dramatic shift in public perception, shifting them from royals to bona fide Hollywood players.”
But the entertainment expert also warned that any appearance by Harry and Meghan at the Oscars carries the same risk, as one mistake “could leave them bruised and tabloid fodder”.
Boardman concluded: “At an event like this, every smile, every handshake is dissected and analyzed. One awkward encounter can become endless tabloid fodder, derailing their carefully crafted image.
“Ultimately, the Oscars are a double-edged sword. Success can propel them toward Hollywood royalty, while a misstep can leave them bruised and tabloid fodder. They can also be a magnet for negativity .
“The rally could reignite the criticism that they are disconnected from the real issues, especially if their recent actions are inconsistent with the causes they champion.”
