Libya’s election commission has declared Saif al-Islam, the son of former King Muammar Gaddafi, ineligible for the presidency.

According to foreign media reports, the Muslim African country of Libya has been embroiled in a series of civil wars since the fall of former dictator Muammar Gaddafi’s government.

There are 98 candidates running in the presidential election, including two women, with Saif al-Islam, the eldest son of Muammar Gaddafi, topping the list.

Libya’s election commission has ruled out 25 presidential candidates, including Saif al-Islam, who has been declared ineligible for the presidency.

It should be noted that the process of submitting nomination papers for the presidential election in Libya ended on Monday.
