Mumbai: The Ghatkopar unit of Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police has got a big success. According to a source, the ANC has arrested two drug suppliers from Mankhurd area and seized MD (Mephedrone) medicines worth around Rs 30 lakh from them.

Police have identified the two accused as 24-year-old Ashfaq Ayub Sheikh and 30-year-old Francis Augustine D’Souza. Senior police inspector Lata Sutar, in-charge of the unit, said, “We have received information that a drug supplier is coming near Mankhurd T Junction. We have arrested the accused by laying a trap and further investigation is on.”

A few days back, the Bureau of Narcotics Control had busted an inter-state drug trafficking gang. Two accused were arrested in the case. A total of 286 kg of high quality cannabis worth Rs 3.5 crore was seized from one of his vehicles. NCB zonal director Amit Ghavte said his team arrested two people in an anti-drug operation late Sunday night. During his interrogation, it came to know that an inter-state drug smuggling gang was operating and a consignment of cannabis worth crores of rupees was coming to Mumbai.
