NAB team leaves without arresting Agha Siraj Durrani

The NAB team has left the house of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani without arresting him.

According to details, the NAB team was present outside the house of Agha Siraj Durrani for more than 15 hours.

According to sources, supporters of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani are still present outside his residence.

Siraj Durrani’s employees continued to resist and remained outside the house all night. Supporters also had breakfast at Siraj Durrani’s house while the NAB team was not allowed inside the house for 15 hours.

NAB sources said that where is Agha Siraj Durrani, there is no confirmation yet, NAB team raided under mobile phone location but could not find success, efforts are underway to arrest Agha Siraj Durrani.

On the other hand, Agha Shahbaz, son of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, while talking to the media outside his house, said that he would not allow any man to enter the house except a lady official, political revenge was being taken from us. Agha Shahbaz further said that nothing will be found by searching the house, I will not allow search of the house without search warrant, my father has been paying these things for many years and he will still do it.

It may be recalled that the Sindh High Court had yesterday rejected the bail of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and ordered to arrest the accused and send them to jail.

According to NAB sources, after the order of the Sindh High Court, the NAB team also went to the house of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani to arrest him.

According to sources, the NAB team also considered arresting Agha Siraj Durrani from the Sindh Assembly but could not succeed.

The Sindh High Court rejected the bail of Sindh Assembly Speaker Aghasraj Durrani in the assets case while granting bail to his wife and sons.

During the hearing, the court ruled on the bail pleas of 18 accused, rejected the bail pleas of eight accused, including Agha Siraj Durrani, and granted bail to his wife and sons.

A two-member special bench of the Sindh High Court had reserved its verdict before the issuance of the NAB Amendment Ordinance.

According to sources, Agha Siraj Durrani is accused of making more than Rs 1 billion in illegal assets.

A special bench comprising Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Iqbal Kalhoro passed the order.

According to sources, the accused include Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, Tufail Ahmad Shah, Matha Khan, Mushad Khatun, Aslam Pervez Lingah, Zulfiqar Ali Dahir, Gulzar Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed, Syed Muhammad Shah, Ghulam Murtaza, Gulbahar Lohar Baloch, Munawar Ali. Naheed Durrani, Agha Shahbaz Ali Khan Durrani and Irfan.

The NAB prosecutor said that according to the documents submitted by the accused, their assets were worth Rs 11 crore, while the recognized assets of Agha Siraj Durrani and his family were worth Rs 47 crore.

According to the NAB prosecutor, the total value of the assets of the accused is Rs 1.6 billion by combining the anonymous properties. The accused did not refuse to acknowledge ownership of the assets.

According to sources, the reference against the accused is being heard in the accountability court.

The NAB had challenged the decision of the High Court in the Supreme Court, which had referred the matter back to the High Court for re-hearing of arguments on bail.

It should be noted that the Chief Justice of the High Court had constituted a special bench of two judges to decide on bail.
