The 8th National Pediatric Nutrition Conference was held on Saturday at Hotel Radisson Green. 145 subject matter experts participated in it. In the program, experts presented shocking statistics related to children’s nutrition. In Rajasthan, which has a population of about 7 crores, only 4 lakh 6 thousand 700 children aged 6 to 23 months get food that contains all the nutrients.
This is only 8.3 percent of the total population of children. According to the National Family Health Survey, 16.8 percent of children under 5 years of age in the state are victims of malnutrition (weakness). Of these, 7.6 percent of children are vulnerable to extreme malnutrition.
There are 1100 test birds in a fledgling, only 11 left in a year.
RCOE nutrition coordinator Kumaril Aggarwal and pediatric specialist Dr. Jaisingh said that after birth, there are 1100 types of taste buds on the baby’s tongue. But due to them not getting the right nutrients, only 11 remain after a year. This is why children have a particular taste for a few things as they grow up. TAD Commissioner Tarachand Meena, RNT Principal Dr. Vipin Mathur, Dr. Praveen Kumar from Delhi, Secretary Shrikant Vasu, Joint Director Dr. Zulfikar Ahmed Qazi, UNICEF’s Naminakshi Singh, Dr. Lakhan Poswal was present in the program.
