New Year will bring happiness, investment, claims Mian Aslam

LAHORE  –  Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal while expressing good wishes for the people on New Year said that the year 2022 would bring happiness to the nation—new investment would come to the province—new industries would be started and people would get jobs.

Giving the media an overview of the measures taken by the provincial government, the minister said that the Punjab government fully participated in the Dubai Expo and 17 MoUs were signed with the domestic and foreign investment companies during the international business conference. “These new agreements will bring investment of Rs45 billion to the country,” he said.

“During last year’s Ramazan, the fruits of Ramazan package worth billions of rupees were delivered to the common man through 313 Ramazan Bazaars. Relief was given to the people through 337 Sahulat Bazaars and 32 Model Bazaars,” he added. “The supply of imported sugar at the rate of Rs90 per kg has been ensured to the consumers. Registration and examination fees of special children in private and public technical institutes were abolished,” he averred.

“Establishment of special technology zones has been planned in nine divisions of Punjab. The first special technology zone will be established in TEVTA Secretariat,” he stated.

The minister said that digital system had been introduced to streamline technical education. “Under this digital system, online registration of private and government technical institutes in Punjab Skill Development Authority is underway.”

The minister maintained that on job training facility was provided to youths by implementing Punjab Apprenticeship Act 2021. “This will also provide better economic opportunities to the youth.”

Aslam Iqbal said that under the Punjab Rozgaar Scheme, easy loans worth more than Rs45 crore were given to 800 citizens in a year. “16 NOCs were issued for setting up new cement factories in the province.” Aslam Iqbal added that a help desk had been set up in Punjab Small Industries Corporation to facilitate investors for the registration of their company or organisation.

The Chief Minister Facilitation Centre has also been set up for the convenience of investors. “Online portal will help consumers lodge a complaint with the Consumer Court/District Protection Consumer Council concerned through mobile application while at home on substandard products and substandard services.”

The provincial minister said that the journey of serving the people would continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
