The long-standing demand of the residents of the city of Mynā now seems to be fulfilled. The process of making Mayana a Nagar Panchayat has begun. A preliminary notification has been issued for this. Claims/objections have been sought against the notification within 7 days. There is a proposal to make Mayana a municipal council by including a total of 12 villages in it. This announcement coming just before the elections is considered a big claim by the BJP.

Let us tell you that the demand to make Mynna a municipal councilor has been going on for a long time. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had also announced this during the Jan Ashirwad Yatra before the 2018 assembly elections, but after the elections it was shelved. Even after the Chief Minister’s announcement, no effective steps were taken in this direction. Even in the last 3 years, the citizens had put forward the demand to form a municipal council before the public representatives. Now the first initiative has been taken in this direction.

A preliminary notification has been issued on September 6 to make Mayana a municipal council. Project Officer, District Urban Development Agency informed that as per the approval of Madhya Pradesh Government Urban Development and Housing Department, Bhopal, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5(1)(b) of the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Act 1961 ( No. 37 of 1961 ), Guna Notification has been issued to make Myna in the district a Nagar Panchayat. In this the local area is Gram Panchayat Myana, Taknera, Khajuri, Padmankhedi, Tinsayai and Laharghat villages Myana, Taknera, Kalapahar, Gadhla, Khajuri, Padmankhedi, Reezhai, Nasira, Sendhua, Tinsayai, Morkhedi and Khonkar and the area is included in the Municipal Council Formation is provisionally notified.

The administration has also invited complaints/objections within 7 days. If the local authority having jurisdiction over these villages or any person residing therein has any objection regarding any matter contained therein, its written objection/suggestion should be submitted within 7 days from the date of notification published in the Gazette dated 6th September. the district may submit to Guna. Any kind of objection will not be valid after the time period, which will be considered by the state government.
