Islamabad: Notification of appointment of Chairman NAB Lieutenant General (Rtd) Nazir Ahmed for 2 years has been issued.
According to the details, the notification of the appointment of Chairman NAB has been issued, in which it has been said that Lt. General (Rtd) Nazir Ahmed has been appointed as Chairman NAB for 2 years.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed as the chairman of NAB.
Sources said the consultation process between the Prime Minister and the Leader of Opposition on the appointment of Chairman NAB went on for two days.
According to sources, the Prime Minister and the Leader of Opposition have agreed on the name of Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Nazir Ahmed after which the notification of his appointment as NAB Chairman has been issued.
It should be noted that Aftab Sultan resigned from the post of Chairman NAB on Tuesday.
It may be recalled that Deputy Chairman NAB Zahir Shah was appointed Chairman NAB under Section 6B of the National Accountability Amendment Act 1999. He continued to perform his duties till the appointment of the new Chairman NAB.
