LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has granted security bail to Central President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi till May 15, stopping him from immediate arrest. The Punjab Chief Minister filed an application for protective bail in the case registered at Ghalib Market Police Station. Justice Asjad Javed Gharal heard Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s application in the Lahore High Court. Advocate Pervez Elahi said the anti-corruption case bail has been filed. Approved by the High Court. Cases are registered daily. The court said that if any new case is registered, file the protective bail application again.
Later, the court granted Chaudhry Pervez Elahi protective bail till May 15 and stopped him from immediate arrest. The court also directed Chaudhry Pervez Elahi to approach the relevant court. Pervaiz Elahi filed a contempt of court petition in the Lahore High Court. It was said in the petition that the Lahore High Court granted protective bail till May 6. Despite the court order, an operation was carried out by the police to arrest him. The attempt is clearly tantamount to contempt of court. On behalf of Parvez Elahi, contempt of court was sought against IG Punjab, DG Anti-Corruption and others for violating the court order.
