Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today flag off the Vande Bharat train between Puri and Howrah and lay the foundation stone for the renovation of Puri and Cuttack railway stations. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vishnu has reached where the entire program is to take place and inspected the entire railway station at midnight to review the progress of the work.

Union Minister Ashwini Vishnu said the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth over Rs 8,200 crore in Odisha and lay the foundation stone for the renovation of Puri and Cuttack railway stations. The Railway Minister further said that Prime Minister Modi has allocated Rs 10,000 crore for development work in Odisha. 10 years ago, only Rs 800 crore was earmarked for the development of a state with the potential to become a trillion dollar economy.

This is the second Vande Bharat Express to West Bengal

The Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will virtually depart from Puri at 1 pm on Thursday, a railway official said. This is the second Vande Bharat Express to be received by West Bengal after the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express. This train will cover a distance of 500 km between Howrah and Puri in about six and a half hours.
