Buckingham Palace has announced that Princess Eugenie is pregnant with her second child.
Buckingham Palace confirmed, in a statement, that Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are expecting another child.
The family was described as “delighted” as the baby is expected in the summer.
The good news has brought joy to Windsor in the wake of the late Queen’s death and amid difficult times following the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoirs.
“We are so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,” Eugenie wrote.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “Princess Eugenie and Sir Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce that they are expecting their second child this summer.
“The family is happy and August is looking forward to being a big brother.”
The child will be born 13th in line to the throne and will be a miss or an ordinary lord.
He or she will be the first of the Queen’s great-grandchildren to be born since her death, arriving in the year of the King’s coronation.
August Philip Hook Brooksbank was born at the exclusive Portland Hospital in central London on February 9, 2021.
He showed up to last year’s Platinum Jubilee pageant celebrations in a Union Flag jacket while Eugenie wore it up and down on her knee as they sat in the royal box.
