PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested from his house in Lahore on Wednesday, Farrukh Habib claimed, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported.

According to reports, a case has been registered against Fawad Ch at Kohsar Police Station in Islamabad under Sections 153-A (promoting enmity between groups), 506 (criminal intimidation), 505 (utterance leading to public mischief) and 124-A (sedition) ) in the Pakistan Penal Code.

The case was registered on the complaint of Election Commission Secretary Umar Hameed.

A judge in Lahore has granted police a day’s remand of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry, allowing them to move him to Islamabad.

Judicial Magistrate Mudassar Hayat pronounced his verdict which he reserved earlier and directed the police to shift the PTI leader to Islamabad after completing his medical checkup.

In his tweet posted early this morning, Farrukh Habib wrote: “Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested by the police from his house. The imported government has gone berserk.”

According to sources, Fawad Chaudhry’s custody report will be obtained in Lahore and he will be shifted to Islamabad today.

Another PTI leader Hammad Azhar tweeted: “Fawad Ch’s phone has been switched on at CTD Police Training College in Chung, Lahore. I have reached the spot.”

Fawad Ch’s brother Faisal Hussain Chaudhry has also confirmed his arrest. He said some unknown persons came in vehicles without number plates and illegally took Fawad with them. They did not show any decision nor did they reveal their identity.

According to the FIR, Fawad Ch said that the position of the Election Commission was as a Clerk (Munshi) and the Election Commissioner only put his signature as a Clerk. Ch further said “if you are so weak, go away and sit at home”.

The FIR further stated that Fawad Ch threatened the Chief Election Commissioner and other members of the ECP and their families. Due to the PTI leader’s speech, the lives of ECP members and their families have been threatened.

The case was registered on Tuesday at 10 pm.

The Islamabad police in its tweet said, “A case was registered against PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry on the request of the constitutional body.

It was registered at the Kohsar Police Station on the request of the Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan.

Fawad Chaudhry threatened the Election Commissioner and the ECP members to prevent them from performing their duties.

Fawad Chaudhry has tried to incite people against the constitutional institutions and arouse their sentiments.

The case is handled according to law.

Fawad’s arrest came an hour after he, along with other party workers, rallied outside PTI chairman Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore, claiming to thwart the government’s alleged plan to arrest the party chief.

The court reserves a decision on Fawad’s detention in transit

Earlier, a Cantt Court judge reserved his decision to grant a day’s remand to senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.

The court also ordered that medical examination of the PTI leader be conducted.

Officials of the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department and the police produced Fawad Chaudhry before Judicial Magistrate Mudassar Hayat and sought his one-day remand.

After handcuffing Fawad’s arrival at the Cantt Court under tight security, PTI lawyers and workers showered rose petals on him.

Due to the rush of lawyers in the court, the judge had to send Fawad to his chambers.

Fawad Chaudhry told the court that he was a senior advocate of the Supreme Court and should be treated respectfully. He said the police had included sedition clauses in the FIR to prevent him from getting bail. He claimed that the entire time in custody he was kept blindfolded by the police with his eyes tied with tape. He said he was treated like a “terrorist”.

The PTI leader claimed that what he said about the Election Commission, the whole of Pakistan was talking about it.

The PTI leader’s counsel pleaded with the court to reject the plea of ​​transit. Counsel requested that the court uncuff their client. They said the judge should decide the matter according to law. They said the police wanted to take Fawad to some other city.

It is an attempt to suppress PTI’s voice: Hammad

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar told the media on Wednesday that Fawad Chaudhry had been kidnapped by unknown persons.

He added that the vehicle in which Fawad Chaudhry had been abducted was also trying to intercept Farrukh Habib.

“Two other vehicles also chased Farrukh Habib’s car,” he claimed.

“Fawad Chaudhry is a brave person. He lived his life with law and constitution. [but] he was picked up like this,” Hammad lamented.

“Fawad Chaudhry’s family was told where he was being held. An attempt has been made to suppress PTI’s voice,” he alleged.

“Fawad Chaudhry raised the voice of press freedom. Arshad Sharif is still alive today. The voice of Azam Swati and Imran Riaz is more powerful than ever,” he said.

“There will be sit-ins in every chowk if the party is not told where Fawad Chaudhry has been kept,” he declared.

“It is not Fawad Chaudhry’s fault that every child is spitting on the system in the country,” he pointed out.

“Such a move in the country will add to the economic and political chaos,” he said, adding that the PTI would call for a nationwide strike in a while.

Fawad’s medical reports appear normal

Arrested PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry underwent a number of medical tests at Lahore’s Services Hospital where initial reports suggested that he is normal and not facing any serious health condition.

According to hospital sources, Fawad Chaudhry’s blood sugar was recorded at 183, blood pressure at 160.

The sources further said that there were apparently no torture marks on Fawad’s body.

The sources said the PTI leader was feeling mental stress for which he has already taken medicine.
