Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) questioned the implementation of Article 144 by the Punjab government in Lahore.
Web Desk: According to the details, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the implementation of Article 144 in Lahore on behalf of the Punjab government in the Election Commission, where it was said that election campaign is the constitutional right of Tehreek-e-Insaaf is the introduction of Section 144 at PTI’s rally illegally.
It has been stated in the petition that the Punjab government is violating Section 15 of the Supreme Court judgment by implementing Section 144. The Punjab government is trying to stop the rally by justifying the PSL match.
According to the text, the route of Tehreek-e-Insaf rally and PSL match is different. Tehreek-e-Insaf’s rally ends at 5:30 pm while the PSL match starts at 7:00 pm. Earlier, no city had imposed Section 144 under PSL.
According to the petitioner, Punjab government is illegally stopping Tehreek-e-Insaf’s election campaign.
Talking to the media, Babar Awan said that the caretaker government imposed the ban on the pretext of PSL, which is an open insult to two courts.
He said the Supreme Court has ordered the election in 90 days, so the Election Commission should take steps to make the election possible.
On the other hand, Rangers were called in by Punjab’s caretaker government to stop the PTI rally in the city.
Rangers were called in to deal with any unfortunate incidents.
