Pi News – Queensland Premier Stephen Miles believes getting to net zero is more important than providing Queenslanders with affordable and reliable energy, Sky News presenter Rita Panahi says. According to The Australian, the Prime Minister is set to introduce new laws to boost the state’s emissions reduction target and decriminalize sex. Mr Miles will introduce legislation to cut carbon emissions to 75% of 2005 levels by 2035 and net zero by 2050. “Queensland lives off coal royalties – it’s the biggest export,” Ms Panahi said. “It will employ tens of thousands of Queenslanders and coal royalties are expected to generate $9.2 billion in the 2023-24 financial year.”
