Lahore (92 News) Rains are likely across Punjab including Lahore from January 18. The two-day rain system will reach Punjab on Tuesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rains will enter the western and upper parts of the country on Tuesday and will remain in the upper parts till Thursday.

Rain / Snow Forecast:

Rain / snowfall is forecast in Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Zhob, Qila Abdullah, Kohlu and Barkhan during Tuesday and Wednesday.

From Tuesday to Thursday morning Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Chitral, Dir, Kalam, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Charsadda, Bajaur. Light to moderate rain and mountains in Karam, Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore and Kasur. Light to moderate snowfall is expected in Murree, Galyat, Nathia Gali, Kagan, Naran, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Astor, Hunza, Gilgit, Neelum Valley, Bagh and Haveli districts from Tuesday night to Thursday.

Possible effects:

Rainfall will be beneficial for wheat crops.

Landslides are expected in Dir, Malakand, Hazara, Swat, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The recent heavy fog is expected to subside.

The meteorological department has also forecast snowfall in the northern areas. PDM has issued an alert.
