Farmers come in with tractors to demand answers from CM!
Ahead of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s proposed visit to Kota, farmers have raised the demand to restart the sugar mill at Keshavraipatan (Kepatan) in Bundi district. Farmers say that before coming to Kota on September 12, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot should announce the reopening of the sugar mill, otherwise hundreds of farmers will come to Kota on tractors to demand answers from the CM.
Young farmer leader Girraj Gautam said CM Gehlot is coming to inaugurate works worth thousands of crores in the name of beautification. On the other hand, no decision has yet been made on issues concerning the future of more than 50 thousand peasant families and youth. On behalf of the CMO, a team of experts had inspected the sugar mill a few days ago. After talks with the farmers, a report was prepared which was submitted to the CM. Experts prepared to start the mill. Only the CM’s announcement is awaited. On Saturday, a meeting of Kota Cooperative Sugar Mill, Joint Farmers Coordination Committee, Core Committee and various farmer organizations was held at Aada Gela Balaji complex.
In the meeting chaired by senior farmer leader Bhanwar Lal Chaudhary, it was decided that CM Gehlot will come to Kota on September 12 to inaugurate the river front and other development works. Even before this, CM Gehlot should announce the opening of the sugar mill and start action in the mill. Otherwise, hundreds of farmers will go to the venue in tractors to demand answers.
