Rape case: Statement of victim minor girl declared admissible testimony

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has declared the statement of a minor girl victim in a rape case as admissible evidence.

The court remarked that the links to the statement of the 6-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted proved the incident with evidence. This is the best time to follow the principle of acknowledging the statement of a rape victim.

Justice Amjad Rafique issued a written decision dismissing Kamran’s life imprisonment appeal. The court also dismissed the appeal against the acquittal of co-accused Barkat Ali.

The court remarked that a 6-year-old innocent doll was lured by a beast a month after going to school. Shaitan Sifat Kamran raped a 6-year-old girl in the toilet of FG School Gujranwala Cantt. The 6-year-old victim recorded the whole incident in court with high spirits and strong words.

The court ruled that the victim’s statement was consistent with the plaintiff’s evidence. The trial court ruled in favor of the 6-year-old victim’s statement.

The court held that the objection of delay in registering the case of the culprit was unacceptable. The girl’s parents got her medical treatment only after considering the outcome of the case. The prosecution no doubt proved its case against the culprit.

Gujranwala Cantt Police had registered a case of sexual assault against Kamran and Barkat Ali in 2017.
