Shaukat Tareen, a financial adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan, has said that Saudi Arabia will provide financial assistance in the next few days. Saudi Arabia has promised to set aside ارب 3 billion and this will happen in a few days.

Addressing a function in Karachi, Shaukat Tareen, finance adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan, said that economists had pointed out that the economy was lagging behind due to lack of savings and trade imbalances.

He said that food supply was affected due to the outbreak of Corona virus so the prices went up. The way Prime Minister Imran Khan handled the outbreak of Corona was appreciated by the whole world.

Shaukat Tareen says that when the government took over, the government was facing economic difficulties, we need such development which is not for 5 years but for 20 years.

“Agriculture has been neglected in the past, we have paid attention and bumper crops are being harvested. We will provide interest free loans of Rs 1,400 billion to 4 million households,” he said.

The finance adviser said that the government was standing by the common man and would provide facilities to 4 million households as per their capacity.

He said the Corona has affected the economy, tightened the IMF program, and pushed up oil prices by 100 percent.

Shaukat Tareen said that we have emphasized on increasing revenue, increasing industrial exports, giving 30% discount package on flour, pulses and ghee for 130 million people.

He further said that inflation is a global issue, the purchasing power of Pakistanis is low, good news on the IMF agreement will be heard soon.

The Adviser to the Prime Minister also said that 60% of Pakistan’s population is under 30 years of age, we need 1.5 to 2 million jobs every year, we need sustainable development.
