Singer Gloria Estefan reveals for the first time that she was sexually assaulted. He threatened to kill her mother if she exposed him

Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan revealed, on Thursday, September 30, 2021, that she was sexually assaulted when she was nine years old at the hands of a music teacher from her family, in her first revelations about this on an episode of “Red Table Talk: The Estefans” posted on Facebook.

While Gloria did not reveal the name of the man, but said that he threatened to kill her mother if she revealed what happened.

Gloria also said that when she finally did tell her mother, she called the police but they did not encourage the family to go ahead, because of the repercussions Gloria could suffer after her testimony.

She added, “That’s the only thing I’m bitter about, because I know there must be other victims.”

Gloria Estefan was born in Cuba and moved to Miami when she was a little girl. She became one of the biggest Latin American pop stars of the 80s and 90s.
