SpiceJet leaves for Gorakhpur Mumbai returns to Mumbai ProIQRA News

New Delhi: The pilots of the SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Gorakhpur decided to fly back to Mumbai after seeing a crack in the windshield in mid-air on Saturday morning. The flight which left Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport at 5:50 am and was scheduled to reach Gorakhpur at 8:25 am was to return to Mumbai.

A photo of the windshield taken by a crew member shows cracks in the glass, although it did not fall out of the frame. A SpiceJet spokesperson said that the SpiceJet was scheduled to fly Boeing 737 SG-385 (Mumbai-Gorakhpur).

During the cruise, the outer pan of the windshield was found broken. The Pilot in Command (PIC) decided to return to Mumbai. The Air Traffic Control (ATC) was notified and the plane landed safely in Mumbai. The spokesman said.

The crew repeatedly told passengers to stay calm until they landed.
