Students cannot be vaccinated without parental permission: Murad Ras

It will take some time to decide

Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass refused to vaccinate children without parental permission.

Addressing a function in Lahore, provincial education minister Murad Rass said that parents must be persuaded before vaccinating in schools and that children can be vaccinated against coronavirus only if the parents agree.

He said that vaccination camps have not been set up in schools yet.

“It will take some time for us to make a decision and we are talking to the health department about it,” the provincial minister said.

It should be noted that the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) had decided to vaccinate children between the ages of 12 and 15 in schools.

The head of NCOC said that vaccination drive would be started in educational institutions and in this regard facilities would be provided in educational institutions for the convenience of students.

The federal minister did not say in his tweet which vaccine has been selected for children and when and where the campaign will start in the first phase.

Earlier, the health department had said that Pfizer vaccine would be given to students between the ages of 15 and 18 as per the instructions of the NCOC.

In this regard, mobile vaccination teams will be sent to educational institutions by the district health department. The Federal Directorate, FERA and all private educational institutions will assist the District Health Department in the vaccination process.
