Karachi: Muhammad Fahim, a 36-year-old journalist, committed suicide due to unemployment and inflation.

According to police sources, the deceased was fired from a local newspaper last year due to downsizing. Fahim had been driving a rickshaw for the past one year to support the children.

Police sources said that Faheem died hanging from a fan in his house on Thursday evening due to severe stress caused by the demands of borrowers and inflation.

Yousuf Plaza police have kept the body in cold storage and started the procedure.

Relatives of the deceased say that Fahim was saying three days ago that he would commit suicide. He has tried to commit suicide three times before. Fahim has six children, one son and five daughters and was the sole breadwinner of the family. ۔
