The interim budget session of Parliament, which began on January 31 ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, concluded on February 10 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech. During the parliamentary session of the 17th Lok Sabha, a total of 274 sittings were held in 5 years. MPs Shatrughan Sinha and Sunny Deol did not participate in any debate in the Lok Sabha.


This information was shared by PRS Legislative on Tuesday (February 13). Meanwhile, BJP MLAs from Kanker and Ajmer did not miss a single meeting, with 100% attendance.

His name was included among the deputies who did not come
Sinha is the TMC MP from West Bengal’s Asansol Lok Sabha seat while Sunny Deol represents Punjab’s Gurdaspuri. Besides, BJP’s Ramesh Jigajinagi, BN Bachegowda, Pradhan Barua, Ananth Kumar Hegde and V Srinivas Prasad, TMC’s Dibyendu Adhikari and BSP’s Atul Singh also did not participate in any discussion or debate.

BJP MP from Kanker, Chhattisgarh Mohan Mandavi and Ajmer Bhagirath Chaudhary have achieved a unique record of not missing a single session of the 17th Lok Sabha under PRS legislation. A total of 274 sittings were held in the 2019-24 Lok Sabha. It was a coincidence that they both sat next to each other in the House.
