Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) ordered an audit by the Supreme Court.

The Committee for Public Accounts has begun accounting for financial matters for major institutions, including the Supreme Court and the FBR.

Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan said the public should know who is getting salaries and benefits from their money. The committee ordered that the National Audit Office should carry out an audit of the Supreme Court and issue a report within one month.

Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan expressed his displeasure over not getting the report on salaries, perks and conspiracies of Supreme Court judges from the Auditor General and said the public should know who gets what benefit from their money.

Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan said that the mafia is in FBR, details of officers who were posted at the same place for years should be provided.

The meeting was told that the rent for a house in posh parts of Islamabad is Rs.25 lakh. PAC has sought income and tax records of the builders of houses, shops and plazas in these areas within a week.

PAC members raised the question that Canal Road Lahore is closed because of the leader of a political party. On this, Noor Alam Khan said that this is the situation of the whole country, no one wants to end the VIP culture, in this regard, a response will be sought from the Ministry of Interior in the next meeting.
