VISITORS heading to one of the UK’s most popular theme parks will have new fees to pay on arrival this year.
Everything seems to be going up in price at the moment, and the days out are no different.
Thorpe Park has announced new prices for visitors in 2024, including increases in parking and entrance fees.
First, visitors will no longer be offered a discounted rate for advance parking reservations.
Instead, there will be a £10 charge per person arriving by car.
Last year, guests were given the option of paying £8 before arriving at the park or paying £9 contactless at the exit barriers.
However, when the theme park reopens in March, the new fees will apply to almost everyone.
Free parking is available to Thorpe Park Gold Annual Pass holders, Merlin Gold Annual Pass holders, Merlin Platinum Annual Pass holders and guests of Thorpe Shark Cabins.
Meanwhile, entrance to the park is also expensive.
Anyone wishing to pay on the door will be charged a new daily charge of £66.
That’s an increase of £2, or 3.1 per cent, according to Ride Rater.
Fortunately, guests can still make the most of advanced booking discounts on park entry, with tickets starting from £34 when purchased online before arrival.
All tickets include entry to all Thorpe Park rides as well as any seasonal events.
The theme park’s website advises: “Book day tickets in advance online and get discounted access to the UK’s most exciting attractions and attractions.”
Free tickets for under 1.2m tall can be booked with any online ticket purchase.
Thorpe Park reopens on Sunday, March 24, when guests will have their first chance to ride Hyperia, the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the UK.
The new car will reach a height of 236 feet and reach speeds of over 80 miles per hour.
The new car park will be Thorpe Park’s first major addition since The Swarm in 2012.
It features some of the highest inversions in Europe and will also have a ‘splash down’ element towards the end where the coast splashes into the lake that surrounds the ride.
A new American-themed land will also open for the first time in a theme park.
The new Big Easy Boulevard replaces the ten-year-old Angry Birds land.

Meanwhile, five new rollercoasters and attractions are opening this year.
And this little-known European theme park is opening two new rides and an indoor attraction.
