Now the parliamentary elections are approaching. However, the demand to make Nainpur and Niwas districts of Mandla district is gaining momentum. The long-running campaign has now intensified. Protest demonstrations are held daily under Nainpur District Banao Sangharsh Samiti in Nainpur and Niwas District Banao Sangharsh Samiti in Niwas.
In Nainpur, committee conveners Vimlesh Soni and Sumita Yadav have even warned of suicide if the district is not created by September 17. The movement has also gained momentum in the residence. Here, a two-day residential bandh has been called by the Sangharsh Committee on Sunday and Monday.
After the movement, now self-immolation warning
In Nainpur, an all-party movement is going on under the leadership of the District Banao Sangharsh Committee since September 7 last year. It receives full support and cooperation from various political, social and business organizations including local people. A torch rally was held in the city on Friday.
Vimlesh Soni, district convener of the Sangharsh Committee, has issued an alert demanding that Nainpur be made a district by September 17. If their demands are not met within the time period, they will commit suicide. His warning has also received support from retired police officer Sumita Yadav, a resident of Nainpur. He has also talked about committing suicide.
A two-day bandh called the residence
The Sangharsh Committee has decided to keep the residence closed on Sunday and Monday in view of the demand to make the residence a district. The committee makes announcements and door-to-door contacts in support of the demand. He says that by observing a two-day bandh we will convey our demands to the government administration and will make this movement more effective day by day.
On Thursday, the Advocates Association took out a rally in support of the demand to make Niwas a district and raised slogans. At the end of the rally, a memorandum was also left to the SDM residence in the Prime Minister’s name.
