ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The President received the Election Amendment Bill and the NAB Amendment Bill.

According to sources, the President has not yet signed the two bills. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs had sent both the bills to the President. Mandatory use of EVMs and overseas voting was abolished under the Election Amendment Bill. The Senate passed the Election Amendment Bill and the NAB Amendment Bill on May 27.

The bills will come into force immediately after the approval of the President. Under the new legislation, only pilot projects for EVMs and overseas voting will be allowed. After approval from the Senate and National Assembly, the bills were sent to the Presidency. Sections 94 and 103 of the Election Amendment Bill 2022 have been amended.
