A major search for the missing two-month-old baby of Constance Martin and Mark Gordon has ended in tragedy as British police announce they have found the remains of a baby boy.

Detective Inspector Lewis Basford of the Metropolitan Police, who led the investigation, told reporters that the remains had been found in a wooded area.

The couple were arrested on Monday in Brighton after dodging police for more than seven weeks but without their child.

More than 200 officers and a specialist search party toured the area around Stanmer Villas where the couple were finally arrested following a tip-off from a member of the public.

They were arrested on suspicion of child neglect, and later on suspicion of gross neglect and manslaughter.
