I woke up this morning like most other times, after the light through Rideau’s vents and the usual noise of early commuters.

I got ready to go out and went to the vaccination center to receive the first dose of the Covid vaccine. The weather on this day was humid and soft, and the breezes of the western winds caressed my face as I was on my way to the King Fahd Center of Honor. I tried to expel from my mind the images of people who had health problems after receiving the vaccine, as well as the conflicting news that we hear here and there that sow terror in the souls and make you certain that the end is undoubtedly coming.

I arrived at the known place. I was surprised by the huge number of people present at the same place gathering outside. I went to the policeman and handed him the card, so he looked at it examining it and handed me a small paper with the number 198 written on it. I realized that my turn would not come yet, so I decided to leave Makkah and come back after a while.

I headed in the taxi “Byatt” with four other people to “the city.” I went down near the Mauritanian cinema and got off towards the Boulevard, heading to the historic Paris Café opposite the French Consulate, whose door was unusually empty of visa applicants. The battle of arms contains unchallenged vitamin C,

I emptied the cup into my stomach at once and opened the Al-Anjari novel and began to read about the jurist who tried to extract a genie who came from Germany and traveled long distances via a private plane to live in the body of the child Youssef, who resides in the Mudashar of Zamij in the Anjara tribe, and the Faqih’s attempt resulted in removing the genie and returning to German homes. Carrying with him the voice of Yusef, who became dumb after the jurist beat him with a stick on his head and the rest of his body!

After an hour, I left the café and turned towards Mexico Street. My feet led me to the Youth Library, where I wanted to buy the novel This Morisco by Ibn Salem Himmish. At this moment, a young woman entered the library and asked Al Kutbi about the Holy Qur’an with the narration of Warsh on Nafi`. I brought her a copy, so she looked at it and said: No, no, I am looking for Warsh’s narration on Nafi’ by Al-Asbahani.

Then she asked him for a book on the interpretation of the Qur’an, and he began to present her with a set of interpretations, including Al-Durr Al-Manthur in the traditional interpretation of Jalal Al-Din Al-Suyuti and in the shadows of the Qur’an by Sayyid Qutb and the interpretation of Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, but it seems that the girl did not find what she wanted.

So I asked myself: Is the girl really looking for an interpretation of the Qur’an, or is it just a review of numerous religious books? And what if Nafeh, Al-Suyuti and Ibn Kathir lived among us, would they have taken their dose of a Chinese vaccine that has no religion!?

I put the novel Memory of the Flesh, in which I was reading some sentences without order, in its place. Then I left the library heading to Fez Street, and from there I returned to the vaccination center, where the private guard called my name to enter the center and discovered that there was a second stage of waiting. Meanwhile, I received a message via WhatsApp saying that the owner of the vaccine said that the vaccine causes sterility, paralysis and blindness, and that he is not ready to risk his life. I had no desire to discuss this conviction with him, and I merely said that life itself is an adventure, especially in the streets of Tangiers, where trotters and fractons race the wind to transport people and goods in full respect of the law of forest traffic.

When my name was called in the hall number 1, I hurried before I received another message reading that it causes kidney failure and hair loss. I took my injection and left the center after I had made an appointment for the second dose which will surely be accompanied by another series of illnesses resulting from this legendary monster..
