It has been raining in Barmer for the last five consecutive days due to monsoon becoming active after one and a half months. Not even a single drop of rain fell in Barmer and Balotra for about 50 days. Due to active Monsoon in the last 24 hours, there has been heavy and torrential rainfall in many areas. The maximum rainfall of one and a half inches has been recorded in Siwana and Gudamalani areas. It has been raining intermittently since Tuesday morning. The Meteorological Department has predicted good rain in the next 24 hours.

In fact, the irrigated farmers have benefited more from the monsoon rains which became active again after a month and a half, while 60-80 percent of the rain-dependent crops were burnt in the fields. In such a situation, raining on burnt crops is of little use. In many places harvested crops of moong, mal and millet have been damaged. In the last 24 hours, 33 mm of rain fell in Gudamalani, 36 in Siwana, 16 in Barmer, 18 in Dhorimanna, 16 in Baytu, 5 in Shiv, 3 in Gida, 7 mm in Pachpadra.

This rain has revived the crops which were on the verge of burning in some parts of the district. In many places, millet crops had become fodder due to burning. Millet has been spoiled due to rain in that place. Most of the crops of Moong and Moth were burnt and they also suffered losses. Bajra, guar and rice crops in rainfed areas have benefited from the rains. After rains in Mando ki Dhani, Alpura, Banta, Nagar, Piprali, Ramji ki Gol in Gudamalani, the fields were flooded.

Since Monday morning, the sun has not been seen due to its hiding in the clouds. From Barmer city to the countryside, sometimes it drizzles and sometimes it rains heavily. Due to rain, water has started flowing on the roads. People have got relief from the heat. The weather has become pleasant. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.8 degrees and the minimum temperature at 24.4 degrees. Due to rain, the temperature drops continuously.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in West Rajasthan during the next 24 hours. During this period, heavy and torrential rain will fall in many areas. After September 20, the period of heavy rain ends and the monsoon disappears.
