They hope to find the “MOI Guadalupe” alive
PROGRESS.– Two weeks have passed since the yacht was lost “ME Guadalupe ” who was making a crossing from Haiti to Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, and there is still no news of the ship and there are no signs of a shipwreck, says Anahí Argáez Jiménez, aunt of Martín Vega Argaéz, one of the four crew members of the pleasure boat.
The route of the “MOI Guadalupe”
The “MOI Guadalupe”, brought humanitarian aid to Haiti, undertook the return on September 25 to Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, stopped the next day in Jamaica to stock up and then resumed the journey, on the 28th of that same month. when they were 130 miles east of Cozumel radio communication was lost.
Boats from the island of Holbox left last week to tour the Yucatan Channel area, as islanders saw sparklers and thought it could be the lost yacht, the search had negative results.
Anahí Argáez pointed out that the relatives of the crew have not stopped requesting help in the search for the yacht, so last week they managed through the state governments of Quintana Roo and Yucatán to continue the search.
They have the support of la Captaincy of the Port of Yucalpetén and the Ninth Naval Zone. They have been informed that the search is being carried out with vessels of the Mexican Navy.
They hope that the ship is adrift and its crew is alive, so they ask for support from the fishermen of the Yucatecan ports so that in case the ship is sighted, they can report it immediately.— GTV
