Nandita Roy, New Delhi: Sarab Trinamol is again demanding the removal of Kanti MP Sisir Adhikari. Trinamool (TMC) is not happy with his response to the notice sent by Parliament. The ruling party of the state demanded the immediate cancellation of Kanti’s parliamentary mandate.

Deputy Shishir’s position should be immediately vacated. Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha leader Sudeep Banerjee has again written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla keeping the demand before him. On Tuesday, Sudeep’s letter after the meeting with Birla mentioned that they were not satisfied with Shishir’s response. Sudeep also demanded action against Shishir under the anti-defection law.

The issue of Shishir’s dismissal from the post of People’s Deputy is currently being considered by the Committee on Privileges of the Verkhovna Rada. Speaker Om Birla assured him that the letter provided by Sudeep would be sent there. On this, Sudeep said, “The reply letter given by Shishir to the committee has been sent to me. There he gave a superficial answer. He did not even admit that he had joined the BJP. But last year, before the Bengal Assembly elections, Shishir came on stage and picked up the BJP flag, we all saw it. Even in the vice-presidential election last August, both Shishir and his son Dibyendu Adhikari voted despite Trinamool’s decision to abstain.”

Sudeep said, “Despite the years that have passed, no action has been taken against the dew.” The case is bogged down in letters and hearings. And so that there would be no delay, I once again wrote to the speaker to make a quick decision.”
