Two men have been charged with a suspected military-style assault weapon and more than £50,000 of suspected drugs were seized after searches in Carrickfergus and Belfast on Friday (5 May).
The 33-year-old was charged with possession of a firearm, other than a handgun, without a certificate, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of ammunition without a certificate, possession of a firearm and ammunition under suspicious circumstances, possession of criminal property, and possession of a class. Class A and Class B Controlled Drugs with the intent to supply and hold Class B and Class C controlled drugs.
The 44-year-old was charged with possession of ammunition without a certificate, possession of a firearm, other than a handgun, without a certificate, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition under suspicious circumstances, and Class A controlled possession. Drugs with intent to provide and possess a Class A controlled drug.
They are expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday 8 May.


As usual, the Public Prosecution Office will review all charges.
