Virat Kohli steps down as Test captain after series defeat against South Africa
After a 1-2 defeat in the three-match series against South Africa, Virat Kohli announced his resignation from the Test team leadership.
Virat Kohli in his message on social networking site Twitter said that 7 years of hard work and perseverance to get the team in the right direction, everything has to stop at some point and this is my test. The captaincy is over.

The Indian captain resigned as T20 captain in September and was replaced by ODI captain Rohit Sharma by the Indian Cricket Board in December.
