Whitley: A man is in court for racially assaulting and battery

A man is set to go to court accused of racially abusing a Marks & Spencer worker.

Mark Andrew Taylor, of Thorni Avenue, Fareham, will appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

The 51-year-old is facing charges of racial abuse and battery.

Police received a report that a Marks & Spencer employee at the Whitley shopping center was threatened with violence, assault and racial abuse on July 12 last year.

A 41-year-old woman, who had previously been arrested as part of this investigation, was released without further action.
