The crisis response team has been brought in after a team found the bodies of students while cleaning up a community in Winnipeg on Friday.
The Pembina Trails school unit has confirmed that a group of 7th and 8th grade students from Ecole South Point School made this horrific discovery while clearing a field south of Waverley Street, west of Tim Sale Drive.

The unit says teachers immediately sent the children back to school and called police.
“Police confirmed that the children saw a dead body. The police are completing their investigation, ”the school unit wrote in a letter to Global News.

“Our school social worker and school psychologist were at the school today and met the most significantly affected children and staff.
“They provided a space for students to talk about what they saw and how they felt.”
Winnipeg police confirmed they were at the scene Friday but did not say the nature of their investigation.

The body was not found on the school property, the school unit said.
The unit has told parents he will return to school on Monday.
