A woman has described seeing one of the victims of a stabbing in Bristol “falling flat on her face” after the attack.
Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, died in hospital after being stabbed in the Knowle West area around 11.20pm on Saturday.
According to local reports, the victims are Max Dixon, 16, and Mason Rist, 15.
One witness told Sky News how he ran into the street to help one of the injured children after returning home from celebrating his son’s birthday.
He said: “I heard a noise from outside the house and I saw one car parked at the top of the road and another in the middle of the road.
“A boy got into the car and closed the door, and then I saw one of the boys walking across the road and falling on his face.
“I ran to her to comfort her because I didn’t want her to be alone.
– I put his head on my lap, told him to stay with us, and put him in the cradle.
A woman who says she knows the teenager described him as a “good kid” and “not a troublemaker.”
A vigil was held near the site of the attack on Sunday night. Many people gathered to light candles and lay flowers for the victims.
A 44-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on Sunday and police launched a murder investigation as they search for more suspects.
It is not yet known whether the attackers and the victims knew each other.
Police arrived on the scene within minutes and administered first aid, but despite their best efforts, the boys were taken to two separate hospitals, where they died on Sunday morning.
None of the victims have yet been officially identified.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, including passengers on the bus who passed by, to contact them.
A GoFundMe page to raise money for the boys’ funerals was set up by Max’s aunt, Christine Fothergill.
