The International Film Festival of India is organized every year in Goa by the Government of India. The festival is one of the 14 prestigious film festivals held worldwide. This year’s 54th International Film Festival got off to a grand start yesterday in Goa.

Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapoor, Shreya Charan, Shreya Ghoshal and many other celebrities participated in the opening ceremony of the festival. They were warmly welcomed. It is reported that more than 270 films will be screened in this grand festival, which will be held for a total of 9 days at 4 locations, out of which 89 Indian films, 62 Asian films, 10 international films and 13 world films will be screened.

Meanwhile, at the opening ceremony of the 54th International Film Festival held yesterday, Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit was presented with the special award of ‘Best Icon of Indian Cinema’. Actress Madhuri Dixit has been contributing to Indian cinema for 40 years. In his honour, Union Ministers gave and praised Anurag Tagore, L. Murugan.
