Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has released a picture of the ongoing construction work on National Highway 4 Pune Satara Highway.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has released pictures of the ongoing construction work on National Highway 4 Pune Satara National Highway. Along with these pictures, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has written that New India has demanded world-class infrastructure. Young India needs world class infrastructure, and Modi ji’s government promises to fulfill it. He further wrote that, taking forward the mission, the work of construction of a new 6-lane tunnel on the Khambhatki Ghat section of National Highway-4 is in progress.

Two tunnels are being constructed

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has released pictures of the construction work being done at Khambhatki Ghat on the Pune-Satara Highway (NH-4) from his Twitter handle. Along with this, he has also shared information about the construction work. In which he has told that a new 6-lane twin tunnel is being built here, which has 3 lanes in each and is currently under construction. He has further informed that the tunnel is going to enhance connectivity and most importantly, the completion of its construction work will directly benefit the commuters.

After the completion of the construction work, the travel time will be 10 minutes.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has shared the information along with a tweet that said that the average travel time in Pune-Satara and Satara-Pune via Khambhatki Ghat is 45 minutes and 10-15 minutes respectively. He has said that after the completion of this 6-lane new twin tunnel, the average travel time will come down to 5 to 10 minutes. He also said that the existing ‘S’ curve in Kisara-Pune direction will be completed soon, which will drastically reduce the accident risk.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, in his tweet, while giving information about the twin tunnel project being built at Khambhatki Ghat on the Pune-Satara Highway, has said that this project is 6.43 km long. The total capital cost of this project is about Rs 926 crore. Also, he has told that this project is expected to be completed by March 2023. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has further written that today our country is witnessing unprecedented structural changes under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister.
