Amid election turmoil, Janata Dal-U gets another jolt, former MP Ranjan Yadav joins RJD

It should be noted that Ranjan Yadav was earlier a close friend of Lalu Prasad and was with him in most of his decisions. Then, after leaving Lalu Prasad’s party, he joined the Janata Dal. The Janata Dal U fielded him in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat, where he contested against his friend Lalu Prasad. Ranjan Yadav defeated Lalu Prasad in this election. Later, Ranjan Yadav also stayed with BJP for a few days and then formed his own party called Rashtriya Janata Dal (Rashtravadi). After some time he rejoined the Janata Dal U and in course of time he was sidelined. He has now reunited with his old friend Lalu Prasad and has returned to active politics with his entry into the RJD.
