Karachi: K Electric has submitted a request to Nepra for monthly adjustment of fuel charges, spokesperson says proposals have also been made in this regard.
In a statement, a K Electric spokesperson said it has sought guidance from the Nepra authority regarding the monthly FCA.
He said the application filed in Nepro was filed for adjustment of fuel charges from July 2023 to March 2024 (nine months).
K Electric According to the spokesperson, three proposals for temporary adjustment of fuel charges (FCA) have been submitted in Nepra. The Nepra authority will decide on the period of FCA application in electricity invoices after reviewing the proposals.
He said the FCA is determined on a monthly basis based on the fluctuation of fuel prices in the world market and as per the rules and regulations of Nepra and the FCA applies to DISCOs across the country.
As per K Electric’s demand, the increase for 7 months is Rs 18.86 per unit and 29 paisa is requested as reduction for 2 months, the total increase being Rs 18.57 per unit after deducting the reduction for 2 months.
