Mountaineer Naila Kayani is on her way to another honor

Pakistani mountaineer Naila Kayani will climb Makala, the world’s fifth highest peak, in Nepal next month.

Makalu is 8485 meters high and 19 kilometers southeast of Everest.

Naila Kayani will start the expedition from the base camp on May 3 and reach the summit on May 5.

After completing the summit, Naila Kayani will become the first Pakistani woman to summit Makalu, she is the only Pakistani woman to climb 10 peaks above 8000 meters.

Naila started her career in 2021 under Gesher Brim Two.

After climbing K-2 and Gesher Brim-1 in 2022, Naila Kayani climbed 7 more peaks in 2023.

Last year, Naila Kayani climbed Annapurna, Everest, Lhotse, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Manaslu and Cho Ayo.
