The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a nightmare for bowlers where the record for the highest number of runs scored in a T20 cricket match has been set. A total of 549 runs were scored in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Earlier, the record of 523 runs in one match was also set during the same edition of IPL on March 27 during the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 287 runs for 3 wickets today, Hyderabad’s score was the highest in franchise cricket and second highest by a team in T20s.
After the first innings, the second innings was similarly smoky, but Royal Challengers Bangalore were just 24 runs short of chasing the record target. He collected 262 runs for 7 wickets.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s second batting score is the highest by any team in T20 cricket.
In the current edition of the IPL, teams have scored 250 or more four times.
This is the record for the highest total of 250 or more in a single edition of a T20 tournament.
In 2023 and 2022, scores of 250 or more were scored three times in England’s T20 Blast.
It is to be noted that out of the 8 highest totals in T20 cricket, three were totals in the current edition of IPL.
